The 1.75-a-Monther

How I admire the 1.75-a-monther!

God bless the 1.75-a-monther.

So, what is a 1.75-a-monther? This is the person whose entire spiritual life can be maintained by gathering with God’s people a mere 1.75 times a month. Stats say that this is how often the regular church member attends per month. They are such high octane Christians that they rarely need a fill up. They consume enough content and worship and encouragement in each visit to a church that they can skip the next 2.25 Sundays without hardly noticing. It’s even more amazing that their children can survive on this same diet!

I stand amazed at the 1.75-a-monther. For some reason I still need the encouragement of the saints every Sunday of the month. It is my anchor point at the beginning of each week. Somehow, I have not progressed to the point of only needing the experience of the church 1.75 a month. I’m not sure what’s wrong with me.

Of course, the 1.75-a-monther has a bit of an advantage. They have so eclipsed the rest of us that they no longer need to serve in the body of Christ! Serving usually requires an almost weekly attendance, faithfulness and dependability. The 1.75-a-monther is so advanced that this is no longer required of them.

How I wish I could be as spiritual as a 1.75-a-monther!

The 1.75-a-monther is only surpassed by the .75-a-monther. The once-a-monther has a rival in the twice-a-yearer.

Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Yeah, this is actually what the Bible says!
